Eva Tak is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist specializing in individual and couples therapy. She maintains a private practice in El Dorado Hills, CA.
In addition to over five years experience as a marriage and family therapist, Eva retired as a lieutenant after twenty-one years with a San Francisco Bay area law enforcement agency. She uses her experience in law enforcement to complement her empathy and understanding of the varied human experience that we are exposed to. Caring for others and providing service has been a life long mission for Eva. She finds personal growth in the strength she sees in her clients. She respects and admires the triumphs of her clients, and believes that it is an honor to be part of their transformation.
Eva graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology. She has received additional training in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (evidence-based effective trauma intervention). She has also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, completing an externship with Leslie Greenberg, Ph.D. With her personal and professional experiences, she has seen the effectiveness of contemporary approaches in addressing the symptoms of trauma and she continues to devote herself to the study and practice of trauma recovery.
On a personal level, Eva enjoys weekend motorcycle trips, theater, music and getaways with her husband. There is an immeasurable pleasure of exploring and finding new adventures with her grandchildren. She recharges by hiking, bicycling, spending time with friends or simply curling up with a good book.
